The Application and Classification of Spiral Chute

Add Time:03/06/2014

spiral chute

Spiral chute is mainly suitable for separating material with particle size of 0.3 -- 0.02 mm like iron ore, ilmenite, chromite, pyrite, zircon, rutile, monazite, phosphorus ore, tungsten ore, tin ore, tantalum ore, niobium ore and other non-ferrous metals rare metals and non-metallic objects which have a specific gravity difference. Spiral chute has features like stable beneficiation process, easy to control, big allowance of fluctuating range of feeding, high concentration enrichment ratio, high recovery rate, small covering area, less water consumption, simple structure, no motivation, big capacity, easy installation and operation, small investment and quick effect. In the recent years, it is widely applied in coal beneficiation industry like coal slurry purification. Spiral chute can separate coal according to the differences between coal slime and weeds and sand. Some coal powder enterprises adopt groove type spiral chute to separate lightweight materials and have a high recovery rate and good separating effect.

Material separation in the spiral chute is mainly affected by water flow. The liquid in spiral chute can flow downward and horizontally, and these two kinds of motion synthesis is spiral flow. Particles with different density in the spiral groove are mainly affected by flow thrust, gravity, centrifugal force and friction force.

Mirror type spiral chute and groove type spiral chute:

The spiral chute can be divided into two kinds according to its trough differences: mirror type spiral chute and groove type spiral chute, among which the mirror type spiral chute is smooth in trough and it separates materials based on the specific gravity of different materials, while the groove type has spiral grooves every 5cm in its spiral surface in order to prevent lightweight material affected by the water and guarantee their separation effect. Their main difference lies in that the groove type spiral chute is mainly used in separation of lightweight materials, while mirror type spiral chute is mainly used in gravity separation of most materials.
